Fat Biking Basics

Fat Bike Basics are for those who want to try a fat bike and learn basic skills.

We will go over things like balance, braking, cornering, the differences of a fat bike compared to a mountain bike climbing and descending and more.  A flat warm boot that will work on flat pedals is a must, a helmet and warm winter wear are also musts.  Layers of clothing are recommended.  Snow pants are doable but a more flexible winter tight is recommended.  The location will be chosen according to snow and weather conditions.

Chocolate or Cheese Fondue add on:  An outdoor setting at Country Encounter Wine Bar we will be served a take out Fondue lunch, your choice of Chocolate, $15 per person, or Cheese $15 per person.  It would happen after the lesson and add on approximately an hour of time. Please let us know at the time of registration if you would like this add on!

Rental bikes and helmets are available at Alpenland Blairmore ( which will give us 10% off for a Sweet Riders session, and must be booked before the session. (reg $52.45 for the day,  reg $25 for a half-day including tax)

Remember Fat Biking is a winter sport, so we recommend the appropriate gear, proper footwear, gloves, protective eyewear, and helmets are mandatory. Headbands or a hat that fits under your helmet, warm layers, a wind layer may also be necessary but snow pants are not recommended. Gaiters work well also!  Let us know if you have any questions.
