Evening sessions are back for 2020!

to offer beginner and intermediate/advanced

A Beginner rider is someone who is just starting on a mountain bike with less than a year of experience and has just started to ride single track or wants to learn.
An Intermediate/Advanced rider is someone who has been riding over a year, has taken a skills course before, and is comfortable riding all trails on Pass Powder Keg.
A Drop in is only permitted when the person has taken a Sweet Riders same levelled session and is wanting to refresh his/her skills.
These evening sessions take place from 6:30 pm-8: 30pm at the Blairmore Skills Park. You should bring protective gear like knee pads, elbow pads if you have them. Flat pedals are highly recommended for skill work. Sessions will range in a skill progression from the first session to the last session.
Beginner sessions will include skills such as learning balance with Neutral Position, Ready State, Braking, Shifting, Straight-Line Riding, Slow speed cornering, switchbacks, basic front wheel lift, basic rear wheel lift, getting over small obstacles such as a log, pump track skills, easy single track trail riding, rolling lunges down gentle slopes, learning how to ride a see-saw and more if time permits.
Intermediate/Advanced Sessions will include a review of the skills mentioned above for the beginner sessions and then a progression to more difficult skills such as 1/4 punch front wheel lift, level lift, manuals, bunny hops, high-speed cornering, track stand, advanced braking, rolling lunges down steeper slopes, see-saw & skinny fun, and trail riding if time permits.
Cost: All 4 sessions for $200 (+GST) or Drop-in $55 (+GST) (Drop-ins are only permitted if you have attended a previous Sweet Riders 101, 102, evening session or private lesson in the past year)
