Karey Watanabe has been living and racing in Japan for 15 years. She holds three Japanese DH Series Champion titles and has raced in World Cups, the Canadian National Series and Norba events in various countries around the world. She currently holds a CMIC license and has worked for the North American Sugoi Dirt Series as a Coach. She also has her official JMA (Japan Mountain Bike Association) instructor's license as well as, a 40 hour wilderness first aid certificate. She is now semi retired from racing and focusing her energy as a coach for Sweetriders.
Kouji Watanabe is one of the Japanese mountain biking pioneers. He started off in his teens as a road racer for Sunday Riders in Tokyo, and then began mountain biking soon thereafter. He has never looked back and been involved in XC racing, freeriding and all mechanical aspects of mountain biking. He has worked as an assistant for the North American Sugoi Dirt Series and is currently an assistant coach with Sweet Riders. He holds an official JMA (Japan Mountain Bike Association) instructor's license and has his wilderness first aid certificate. He is also a very skilled mechanic!!!
